Open Minds, Open Doors
Open Minds, Open Doors was a series of network-and-learn events that sought to change “hearts and minds” so those who are turning their lives around could gain access to the foundation to their success: housing. It was an innovative campaign designed to persuade landlords and brokers to shift their behavior so they become more open to renting to individuals with histories of justice involvement.

New York City Gun Violence Hotspots Data Study
On behalf of the New York City Council, Policy Ground assembled a team of criminology researchers to conduct a comprehensive review of publicly available gun violence data and hot spots. The team walked over 800 city blocks with the highest concentration of gun violence to create a typology of gun violence hot spots. The team then developed an analytic framework to assess existing data, rigorously audited public datasets, and made recommendations to how data structure and quality can be improved so that communities can be empowered to understand violence in hotspots and design solutions.
